Helen Rice MA MSc MBACP Relate-certified

I am passionate about helping people to have fulfilling and happy lives. That's why I work with individuals, couples and family groups to explore their uniquely personal difficulties and to help them to make the often small changes that can turn things around.

How I work

I have trained as a general counsellor, psychologist, coach and specialist relationship therapist so I draw on a range of ideas and disciplines to support each client to find a way of working that best suits them. The 'integrative' approach I use incorporates psychodynamic, systemic, existential and other therapeutic ideas, as well as life-coaching techniques and facilitated exercises in sessions when they may be useful.

More than any technique or theory, however, I believe that helping clients to be curious about themselves - in other words being able to reflect on themselves and their circumstances with a sense of neutrality and non-judgement in a safe and supportive environment - is the key to success.

Being curious is what will ultimately help you to distinguish the uniquely personal barriers that have been in the way of having the life and relationships you want, and it will enable you to see how you can achieve your goals, naturally and with ease.

After an initial hour long session where we will talk broadly about your life and relationships as well as your current difficulty, we will decide together if having regular sessions with me is right for you. Read more here >
