Sessions at Home during the COVID-19 Crisis

Continuing Our Service
 
To support both existing and new clients to overcome relationship difficulties during this challenging time, Poole Relationship Therapy will to continue to offer individual and couple counselling for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.
 
All client sessions will be conducted online or by phone whilst the Government Rules on Staying at Home & Away From Others are in place.https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Appointments can be arranged between10am and 6pm Mondays - Friday; subject to availability.
 
Sessions are available via one of the following applications. These offer video and audio-only options, and are free to access, excepting all usual charges applied by your mobile/broadband supplier:
  • Skype 
  • Zoom 
  • Face Time 
  • Telephone

About Virtual Sessions
I have been successfully running online counselling, relationship therapy & coaching sessions with individuals and couples across the UK and overseas (Africa; Asia; Australia; Europe & USA); for some years. Virtual counselling & therapy is also commonly, and currently, offered by many organisations including the NHS.
 
Many clients who have used this service report that there is little if any notable difference between this and face-to-face in-person sessions.
There are some limitations to these technologies worth noting here:
  • Due to high demand of broadband services currently, there may be some disruption to video calls. However, sessions can typically continue and I will allow for extra time if there is loss of service up to 15 minutes. Very occasionally, there is a need to abandon a particular approach and continue in another way (e.g. switching to audio-only).
  • Online services such as Skype & Zoom tend to update often. We suggest that you set-up / test your capability well in advance of the scheduled session time and are ready to go a few minutes before we're due to start.
  • Skype & Zoom calls are encrypted to protect users from eavesdropping. However, it is every clients' responsibility to manage their own privacy and level of disclosure when meeting online / by phone.
Pausing Ongoing Sessions to Continue at a Later Date
I appreciate that not all existing clients will want to see me online, and/or may not be in a position to continue sessions for some time due to managing other priorities. If this is you, please let me know when you would like to recommence your sessions when the 'lockdown' rules are relaxed, and I will do my best to find a suitable session for you at the earliest opportunity.
